The AEW tag team division has been heating up as Cope & Christian Cage reunited months ago and they’ve set their sights on the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Cope & Cage challenged FTR for the AEW Tag Team Titles earlier this month at the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, and it was FTR who managed to pick up the win and walk out with the gold.
Copeland appeared in a backstage segment on AEW Dynamite this week, and he brought up how FTR said he and Christian will never get another shot at the tag titles. He said he’s biased, and thinks they deserve another one, so he came up with an idea that even FTR couldn’t refuse.
The Hall of Famer brought up how FTR always says they’re the best tag team ever, which he said is debatable. Cope then suggested that he and Christian challenge FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championship in a street fight at Double or Nothing. He added that FTR will be able to prove they’re the best ever because if they beat Cope & Christian at Double or Nothing, they will retire as a tag team.
