CM Punk has feuded with some of the biggest names in the business, and fans still talk about his matches with Jeff Hardy to this day. Recently Jeff Hardy got the wrestling world talking when he said that he hopes to return to WWE and retire CM Punk.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet about his comments Jeff Hardy made it clear that he was joking, but also discussed his vision for what a modern Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk feud could look like.
“I would love to revisit that feud in some way. CM Punk is such a superpower in the pro wrestling game, but if Jeff Hardy getting sober made him like an a******… come on, heel Jeff Hardy against the one and only popular CM Punk. I feel like that’s completely possible.’
Ahead of Elimination Chamber, CM Punk spoke with Daily Mail about potentially reigniting his feud with Jeff Hardy, and he noted that there’s a lot of bridges to be crossed before a potential match could happen.
“I think there’s got to be a lot of bridges crossed. I don’t know how many years I have left. I’m all for giving people second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth chances. There are a lot of experiences I didn’t enjoy so much, we don’t have to get into it, but I just root for people to be free of whatever demons possess them. If he’s coming back here, great, let’s see what happens.”
