Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega have been going back and forth on Twitter for weeks now, and most people assumed they were building up to a match on Chris Jericho’s cruise next year, but it turns out that they had much bigger plans in mind.
At NJPW Power Struggle, a video aired after Kenny Omega’s match and the video featured Jericho challenging Kenny Omega to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in the Tokyo Dome in January.
Chris Jericho is typically thought of as a WWE guy, so it’s not hard to see why this match is such a big deal.
Quite a few fans have enjoyed watching the feud play out through social media, but apparently one fan thinks that the online feud was “insulting to the fans.”
Good for everyone, yes, but why not just be straight up about it? Why try to hide it in a worked online shoot? Its insulting to fans.

I agree. But why not just be straightforward? This isn’t the 80s or 90s. Fan sophistication is much higher now. Stop the workin.

Jericho responded to the criticism with the following:
Well We fooled your stupid ass…. https://t.co/N7r20WOXuK

Whether you agree with how the match was set up or not, it’s happening on January 4th, and Chris Jericho made sure to let Kenny Omega know he’s ready for him.
