The WWE Backlash PLE aired live from Tampa, Florida on Saturday night and the show kicked off in a big way. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker have been feuding for months now and the two stars finally faced off in the opening match.
Things got heated very quickly as Bron got in Seth’s face before the bell range and then charged at Rollins immediately after the match kicked off. Unfortunately for Bron it was Rollins who got the upper hand early on.
Breakker quickly turned the tables on Rollins, but struggled to keep The Visionary down as Paul Heyman watched from ringside. Breakker connected with the Frankensteiner off the top rope and Rollins managed to kick out at two. The fans then rallied behind Seth with “let’s go Rollins,” chants.
Bron Breakker tried to run around the ring and catch Rollins with a spear on the outside, but Rollins countered with a superkick. Back in the ring Rollins went for the Curb Stomp as Breakker turned his head, so Rollins connected with a running knee for a two count.
Rollins stomped on Rollins then blew a kiss to Heyman as he went for the Curb Stomp again. Breakker grabbed his foot at the last second to block it. Seth connected with the buckle bomb and Breakker came out of it then connected with a clothesline.
Breakker jumped off the apron and hit a clothesline on Rollins on top of the announce table. He threw Rollins back into the ring before the ten count then went to the top rope. Rollins hopped up and connected with a superplex. He tried for the Falcon Arrow, but Breakker countered it with a Falcon Arrow of his own for the a two count.
They went to the top again and Breakker connected with another Frankensteiner. He put Rollins on the top rope one more time and delivered a third Frankensteiner. Rollins no sold it, hulked up, then hit Breakker with a few superkicks followed by a Pedigree.
The Visionary finally connected with the Curb Stomp as Heyman got up on the apron and distracted the referee. Seth pulled out a steel chair as Auston Theory and Logan Paul appeared out of nowhere. He fought them off with the steel chair then hit Theory with a Stomp.
Rollins started to chase Logan Paul up the ramp with the steel chair then ran back into the ring. Breakker connected with a spear and Rollins kicked out at two.
Breakker took the straps down then went for another spear, but Rollins countered with a Pedigree and went to the second rope for another Stomp. Breakker caught him with a spear in mid air then delivered another spear to Rollins to win the match.
