shad gaspard

Shad Gaspard went missing on Sunday after the former WWE Superstar got caught up in a riptide and hit by a big wave.

Rescue workers have been attempting to find Gaspard for days now, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Lifeguard Division recently tweeted that a body matching the description of Sunday’s missing swimmer was found along the shoreline at Venice Beach.

According to KTLA 5 the body washed ashore about halfway between Venice Beach pier and the lifeguard headquarters. Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Titus Tyler noted that the body showed no signs of foul play.

Tina Patel of CBS LA is reporting that the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Lifeguard Division confirmed that the body matches that of Shad Gaspard.

It was reported on Sunday that Gaspard was swimming with his 10 year old son when they got caught up in the riptide. Shad directed a lifeguard to save his son first, and they did, but Shad was not seen again after getting hit by a wave.

As we previously reported, Shad Gaspard’s wife recently issued the following statement on behalf of his family:

“We would like to express our gratitude to the first responders who rescued Aryeh and to the lifeguards, coast guard, divers, fire and police departments for their continued efforts to help find our beloved Shad.

Shad is a fighter, a warrior and a magical soul. We are hoping and praying for his safe return. As a family we thank you all for your concern and well wishes. Please continue to keep sending your positivity and prayers to our beloved Shad. .
