Sheamus has been with WWE for over twenty years, but his time with the company is coming to an end. Earlier this week it was reported that WWE approached the former champion about signing a restructured contract extension, and he swiftly declined. For the first time in over two decades Sheamus will not be part of the WWE roster and a number of people are processing the departure.
WRKD Wrestling is reporting that while one name in particular stuck out there were many people in WWE who were hoping to keep Sheamus with the company. However, they don’t blame him for not taking the restructured deal.
It’s being said that The Celtic Warrior’s veteran presence, along with him just being beloved backstage overall will have many in the locker room missing him.
WrestleVotes recently reported that an unnamed high live member of the WWE office went to TKO and “went to bat” for Sheamus as they dove into the value he brings to the company beyond his in-ring contributions. It was also noted that a person close to Sheamus believes he would welcome the idea of competing for AEW if the right opportunity presented itself.
