This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw aired live from Mexico City and the show featured a huge main event as Penta stepped up to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. Ultimately Roman Reigns retained the title, but it sounds like Penta impressed all the right people.
Lucha Libre Online is reporting that all the executives who were backstage at Raw this week in Mexico City were extremely happy with Penta’s performance. According to the report, they were all clear on Penta being an excellent wrestler, seeing him in the ring with Roman Reigns with an entire arena on his side was something very different.
It’s being said that the company realized they have a long-term money maker when it comes to Penta, and the match reinforced the idea internally that at some point Penta will be a world champion on the main roster. That idea was made clear to the people Penta had to impress, and it was noted that the event did excellent in ticket sales, which may have generated a record amount of money for WWE at CDMX Arena.
At this point it’s not clear where Penta will go from here, but it seems that right people in WWE have recognized his value as a performer following his big title match with Roman Reigns on Monday night.
