SummerSlam is only a few days away and for months now it’s been rumored that Trish Stratus would be facing Becky Lynch at the big event. However, WWE announced earlier this week that Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus will instead take place on an upcoming episode of Raw. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Rhea Ripley was also reportedly in the plans for SummerSlam, but that match hasn’t been announced for the show as of this writing.

Dave Meltzer recently discussed the SummerSlam card on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that some of the matches that were originally planned for the show have been called off due to time constraints.

“There is a time constraint. I was told that was part of the reason some of these matches that were originally earmarked for the show are off, is because they have a time limit on the show which I guess is three-and-a-half to four hours and they didn’t want to short-change matches basically, as far as time. So that is part of it.”

SummerSlam will air live from Ford Field on Saturday, August 5 and the current card can be seen below.
