Becky Lynch has had a huge year, as she won the Women’s Royal Rumble back in January, then she went on to capture two titles when she picked up a victory in the main event of WrestleMania 35.
Before she entered the Royal Rumble, Becky lost a match to Asuka on the same pay-per-view, and it looks like we could be seeing a rematch next month.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Becky’s recent involvement with Asuka is meant to lead to a Becky Lynch vs. Asuka title match, likely at the Royal Rumble, as it will mark the one year anniversary of when Asuka beat Becky clean.
The clean victory at the 2019 Royal Rumble was done to set up Asuka challenging Becky Lynch for a title after WrestleMania 35, but by the time WrestleMania was over plans had changed.
Paul Heyman reportedly made the call months ago to build toward Asuka vs. Becky for early 2020.
