WrestleMania is the Show of Shows, and every wrestler in the WWE hopes to land a spot on the card during WrestleMania season. You never know who might show up and it seems that there was talk of former Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch returning at WrestleMania 37.
Fightful Select reports that WWE was hopeful that they could get Becky Lynch involved in WrestleMania last year, but that didn’t end up happening. Becky Lynch did confirm to Fightful that there were talks between her and WWE about doing something with Bayley at WrestleMania 37.
Becky Lynch said that Bayley deserved a big moment, and she was hoping to make that happen, but she joked that “WWE thought they needed something bigger for Becky than Bayley.”
People who were working in creative at the time reportedly confirmed that there were an “exhaustive number of pitches to get Bayley more involved in WrestleMania.” Other ideas that were pitched included Bayley hosting the show either by herself, or with Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil, and a special edition of Ding Dong, Hello!
It’s being said that Bayley’s value to WrestleMania was never in doubt, but the ideas that got pitched for her just kept getting shot down.
