WWE announced a few weeks ago that Eric Bischoff had been named Executive Director of SmackDown Live, and Bischoff was backstage for this week’s episode according to PWInsider.
Tuesday was Bischoff’s first SmackDown taping since being named Executive Director, and it’s being reported that he sat in on production meetings and spent a lot of time with the creative team, but there was no real obvious change to the TV taping process.
All sides are said to be taking their time so that Eric Bischoff can familiarize himself with the company and how it operates.
Although Bischoff has worked with WWE in the past as a performer this is the first time he’s worked for the company in an executive role.
