Shortly after WrestleMania 27, Edge had to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and he announced that he was retiring from in-ring competition.
It’s been a while since Edge has wrestled a match, but the WWE Hall of Famer shocked fans when he got physical with Elias at SummerSlam.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Edge recently negotiated with AEW and WWE, and he ended up signing a significant offer with WWE.
It’s not confirmed at this point in time that he will be wrestling again, but the idea of him returning to the ring has reportedly been talked about very privately. However, it’s not known if he will be able to get clearance.
People in WWE creative are said to be under the impression that he will never wrestle again.
Edge recently announced that he is leaving E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness due to family reasons, but back in August he stated that he thinks he could have one more match.
“To be perfectly honest, I think I could do a match tomorrow. I might be blown up but I’d be okay. It’s just from what I know with the WWE medical staff, they won’t allow. It is what it is, right?”
