There are quite a few former Ring of Honor stars who currently call WWE home, and more former ROH stars will be showing up in WWE soon enough. Donovan Dijak recently confirmed that he’s finishing up his indie dates so that he can move on to the next stage of his career, and it’s believed that he’ll likely start with WWE in September.
Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish recently showed up in NXT, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that former ROH World Champion Adam Cole is “on his way” to WWE.
For quite some time now it’s been believed that Adam Cole is WWE bound, but Cole has experienced some setbacks. WWE reportedly contacted the tag team War Machine earlier to let them know that they would have contract offers waiting for them when their ROH contracts expired, and WWE received legal threats from ROH.
WWE decided to pull the contract offers for ROH talents in January after receiving the legal threats, but it appears that there is movement once again now that Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish have been offered contracts.
Back in April when he was asked about possibly signing with WWE, Adam Cole noted that he would like to work in NXT before going to the main roster.
“I would want to [start in NXT] because, first of all, I’m a fan of NXT,” Cole said. “I think the brand is cool. I think the Takeover shows are awesome. I think the fans are great. I love the roster of guys. I think it’s something that’s going to be looked at as a very special time in pro wrestling, so I want to be a part of it. Secondly, of course in a perfect world if I went to NXT, I wouldn’t want to be there forever; but I like the idea of going there and performing there and getting accustomed to the WWE audience and them getting accustomed to me and then eventually making the move to Raw or Smackdown. I think it’d be a lot of fun, and I think I would really enjoy working in front of that audience.”
