Last weekend Roman Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso at SummerSlam, and it was The Tribal Chief who walked out with the gold. While Roman did successfully defend his title against his cousin he unfortunately suffered an injury in the process.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Roman Reigns suffered either a hip or back injury following a dive from Jey Uso. It was noted that the injury happened about five minutes into the match.

“Reigns suffered either a hip or back injury from the tope from Jey Uso about five minutes into his main event match. You could see the way he moved and walked that he was in pain, but to his credit, unless you were looking for it you probably didn’t see it.”

At this point in time it’s not clear who Roman’s next opponent will be, or when he will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship again. One way or another Roman Reigns is still being advertised for SmackDown this week, so it will be interesting to see how the next chapter of The Bloodline storyline unfolds.
