Asuka retained her NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Takeover: San Antonio just over a week ago after she overcame the odds in a fatal-four-way match.
Asuka will definitely be a hard woman to beat, though, given that she is now the longest reigning NXT Women’s Champion in this short history of the belt. Asuka has beaten Paige’s inaugural reign of 308 days now as she continues her tenure as the lead woman in NXT.
The Empress of Tomorrow is still undefeated in NXT and it is thought that WWE could be set to bring her up to the main roster as an unpinned champion, by having her lose her title in a triple threat match.
Asuka could be brought up to the main roster as soon as the week after WrestleMania, which means that she would be brought up to either Raw or SmackDown as an undefeated star.

Whilst Asuka pinned Peyton Royce to retain her championship at NXT Takeover: San Antonio, the Venus flytrap managed to defeat both Liv Morgan and Ember Moon to become the new number one contender to the NXT Women’s Championship at a recent set of NXT tapings (full results available here).
It will be interesting to see how this win for Peyton affects her friendship with Billie Kay, who is also pushing towards the title. Ember Moon and Liv Morgan are also coming through the ranks in NXT now as well and it seems that the Women’s Division could be getting back to its best.
