WrestleMania 36 was unlike any other WrestleMania before or after it as the event took place at the height of the pandemic so WWE had to get creative. AJ Styles faced off against The Undertaker in a cinematic match which was billed as the Boneyard Match.
The Undertaker picked up the victory over The Phenomenal One and ultimately The Undertaker’s match with AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 ended up being Taker’s last match. AJ Styles talked about the match during an interview with Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes and he revealed that The Undertaker sent him the gloves he used during the Boneyard Match.
“He didn’t really have to say anything, because we both knew, as we were doing it like, oh, okay, we got chemistry here, you know. And at the end, I signed my gloves that I wore in the boneyard match, and I gave them to him. And then a couple of weeks later, he signed his and sent them to me. So I have his gloves from his last match that we had in the Boneyard. It’s pretty awesome.”
Over the weekend AJ Styles faced off against LA Knight during night two of WrestleMania 40 and it was LA Knight who picked up the victory. The Undertaker also made an appearance during night two as he attacked The Rock when The Final Boss tried to interfere in the main event.
