The wrestling landscape has changed quite a bit over the last few months as WWE has been asking certain talents to restructure their contracts which has led to departures from the company.
A few months ago Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day parted ways with WWE after they were asked to restructure their deals, and it was recently reported that Sheamus is leaving the company after declining to sign a restructured contract.
With The New Day and Sheamus moving on from WWE many fans have wondered if they could end up in All Elite Wrestling. Ricochet happens to be one name who made the jump from WWE to AEW, but he recently cast doubt on the possibility of Sheamus and The New Day joining the company when he posted the following:
“Everyone, listen. Neither New Day or Sheamo is coming to @AEW.
FOR 1. I’d kick Kofi and Creed’s a** in @Tekken. They know that.
And 2, I’d simply just kick Sheamus’ as**. Its easy.
Don’t get your hopes up. 👑 👌🏽 #Ahaa”
Of course Ricochet is known for trolling fans on social media, and his tweet got fans talking like it was likely designed to do. Following The New Day’s WWE departure it was reported that a number of AEW names were pushing for the company to sign Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. They are expected to become free agents sooner than later, so it will be interesting to see if they end up in AEW.
As far as Sheamus goes, it’s unclear at this point in time if AEW is interested in him, or what his future plans are. The Celtic Warrior has yet to comment on his WWE departure as of this writing.
