Over the last few years fans have seen a number of WWE Hall of Famers pop up on AEW programming. Names like Jake Roberts, Tully Blanchard, Sting and even Ric Flair have made appearances on AEW TV, but it looks like there’s at least one name who won’t be joining the company.
Teddy Long recently appearance on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, and he explained that someone who worked for AEW approached him and told him that the company wanted him to know they’re not hiring any old people.
“Do you… And I’ll say this, and I won’t say who told me. But, do you know, one of the guys that worked there had the nerve to walk up to me, now I didn’t ask for this and told me, ‘Oh by the way, AEW told me to let you know that we’re not hiring any old people.’ I swear. They walked up to me out of the blue. I didn’t ask for that. Who cares about…? I’m not asking nobody for a job there. But this is what this guy walked up and told me.”
Teddy Long had a successful run with WWE working as a referee, a manager and then eventually a General Manager. In 2017 the company inducted him into the Hall of Fame and in recent years he’s made sporadic cameo appearances.
