WWE is the most recognizable wrestling company in the world, but it’s not big secret that the company’s popularity has been on the decline as of late.
However, viewership was up for this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.
Dave Meltzer talked about the ratings for Raw on Wrestling Observer Radio and he noted that there was a big increase in the teenage demographic, especially for the second and third hours of the show. There was also an increase in the 18 to 34 demographic.
It was also noted that in light of AEW’s emergence WWE is trying to win back the teenage audience by producing content that is more risque.
WWE is said to be well aware that they’ve lost touch with the teenage audience, which is why this week’s shows featured things like Corey Graves saying “holy s**t” and Kofi Kingston giving Samoa Joe the middle finger.
More NXT call ups are also expected as WWE officials want more young wrestlers on the roster.
