Cesaro and Paul Heyman shocked the world after WrestleMania XXX when they announced that they had formed a business relationship. Antonio Cesaro who had long been thought of as one of WWE’s most promising up and coming superstars seemingly got the boost he needed when aligning himself with Paul Heyman. One has to wonder though, is this relationship built to last?
Before aligning himself with Heyman, Cesaro was quickly turning into a fan favorite and his new manager seemingly aims to make him a heel once again. Without a doubt Cesaro is talented and Heyman is arguably one of the greatest managers of all time. The pairing seems like a perfect one but WWE appears to already be playing up dissension between the two.
Since forming a business relationship, Heyman has talked more about Brock Lesnar ending the streak than he has about any of Cesaro’s accomplishments. Is this poor writing on WWE’s part or is it all part of a bigger plan?
It seems to be part of a bigger plan as Heyman recently cost Cesaro a victory and internet rumors suggest WWE is still on board with Cesaro being one of the company’s premiere babyfaces. Rumors suggest that WWE is purposefully handing out “Cesaro Section” signs at WWE live events as a way to get the fans behind Cesaro despite the fact that he’s aligned with Heyman. If this really is the plan then the payoff will prove to be great.
Regardless of how his personality is showcased, Cesaro is at the point where people want to cheer for him. His in ring ability and mind boggling strength have proved to be one of the highlights of WWE’s weekly programming. He was born to be a big player in WWE and everyone knows it.
If WWE keeps Cesaro with Heyman the future is bright but if WWE uses their relationship as a launching pad, the future is much brighter. A potential split between Heyman and Cesaro similar to the one we saw between Punk and Heyman last year could mean big things for Cesaro around the time that SummerSlam rolls around. Stars can’t be made overnight but Cesaro turning on Heyman would get a big pop from the crowd and one has to assume WWE knows this.
How long will this relationship last? No one knows for sure but all signs seem to be pointing to it being a launching pad for Cesaro’s career rather than a lasting relationship.
