It’s been reported that WWE officials are changing their plans for the WWE Universal Title match at Summerslam. Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns are the top choices, but many fans are thinking that Joe vs. Lesnar could continue into the biggest show of the summer.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Brock Lesnar knows when a program can draw huge money. His opinion means a lot backstage, but he will put over someone when he feels the feud can build to even bigger match. He did exactly that last year with Bill Goldberg.
Of course, Vince McMahon has the final say. However, it’s being speculated that Samoa Joe could win the WWE Universal Title next Sunday and the rivalry with Lesnar will be extended into Summerslam. The general feeling is that even if WWE officials go in another direction for Summerslam, the rivalry between Joe and Brock will continue at a future PPV event.
