great balls of fire

When news broke saying WWE’s July pay-per-view is going to be called Great Balls Of Fire, there were more than a few jokes told all aroundWrestling Observer Live says there might be a few reasons why WWE chose to use such an interesting new name.

It was previously thought WWE would use the name Bad Blood for their July PPV. Brian Alvarez said WWE might be trying to distance themselves from a tragic event that happened the day of Bad Blood in 1997. On the morning of the first Hell In A Cell match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker where Kane made his WWF debut, Brian Pillman died.

The thought is WWE might not want people searching for Bad Blood and finding stories about Pillman’s death. This is a very strange idea though because WWE used the Bad Blood name in 2003 and 2004 as Raw exclusive events. They were both incredible shows too.

There is also a thought WWE is creating a new pay-per-view name just so they can license more property. It’s hard to imagine someone else wanting to use “Great Balls Of Fire” as the name of their wrestling event other than WWE. But, they are staking claim to it nonetheless.

The July PPV is going to have a great main event though. Brock Lesnar is set to defend his WWE Universal Title. Braun Strowman is said to be his opponent too. That kind of intensity is sure to set anyone’s balls on fire.

WWE released another amazing video showing behind the scenes at an NXT Live show. We previously reported about one featuring Tye Dillinger, and this new video is just as good.

Andrade “Cien” Almas is out to make a name for himself in NXT. In this video, you can see how focused he is backstage before he turns it on for the live crowd.
