Word has been going around for quite some time now that Samoa Joe is expected to debut at the Royal Rumble. The Samoan Submission Machine is currently listed by Oddshark as the fifth most likely candidate to win the annual battle royal match this year just below Finn Balor. The fact that he isn’t currently scheduled to take part in the NXT Takeover event one day prior to the big four pay-per-view lends more credit to this rumor.
It was recently reported that although plans aren’t finalized, there might be plans for Joe to make his debut during the Royal Rumble match where he should have a very strong showing which will lead to a program going into to WrestleMania in April.
The Revival are also rumored to be getting a call-up to the main roster soon. Their feud with TM-61 has been canceled due to Shane Thorne suffering a knee injury which required surgery to repair. Some have speculated that they might be making a Royal Rumble debut as well since they aren’t featured at the NXT Takeover: San Antonio event either. The Revival has been ready for a main roster call-up for some time now although some have thought that this call-up might have been stalled due to a tweet made by Scott Dawson in November.

Although some have theorized that their call-up might have been stalled due to a tweet made by Scott Dawson in November while responding to the rumor that they would make their debut during the Tag-Team Turmoil match on Smackdown.
There hasn’t been any word recently on if there is heat on Dawson for this social media faux pas, but at the time it wasn’t looked upon favorably. Dawson did delete his tweet, but Roadd Dogg and Bubba Ray Dudley still had time to reply in negative form to his comment.
Keep talking like that and you won't debut at all! #OUDK https://t.co/nG7iXVUBQb

Bubba Ray Dudley also followed up with:
“Great job. You managed to insult the entire creative team and your FELLOW workers in one tweet. Complete disrespect…”
[…] One thing that you could interpret from his speech is held in the line about respecting the business. If they don’t respect the business, then they could find themselves with a lot of heat and severely damage their chances for advancement. Countless people have stifled themselves politically for not respecting the business and these are very wise words to hear. Dawson himself has made social media faux pas in the past. […]
