WWE has done a pretty good job with bringing back stars from the past and balancing them with stars from the present. There are quite a few former WWE Divas from the past that we would like to see work with the current WWE Divas, even if it’s just for one match. These are the 6 former WWE Divas on our wish list.
#6 – Molly Holly
Molly Holly is a name that’s never really mentioned nowadays on WWE programming. This former WWE Women’s Champion and former WWE Hardcore Champion was quite the performer during her run with the company. She had no problem embracing her quirky character and she could bring it when she stepped in the ring.
Molly Holly would be a perfect fit for an “old school” episode of Raw. Whether it’s in singles competition, or teaming up in a one off mixed tag match featuring Mighty Molly and The Hurricane, we know that one more WWE match from Molly Holly would be TV worth watching.
#5 – Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn was around during a weird time in WWE. Her and AJ were giving it their all trying to elevate the WWE Divas division but it was a big mess during Kaitlyn’s run with the company. Kaitlyn left to pursue other interests and it’s not hard to see why. Her career in WWE was going nowhere fast due to the fact that the entire division wasn’t given any attention while she was there.
Kaitlyn is a unique talent because she’s got beauty and braun. Her large muscles made her a powerhouse and it would be nice to see that power utilized to its full extent. Kaitlyn is someone that would be a perfect fit for the current Divas Revolution. But even if she doesn’t want to return to the world of wrestling full time, we would be satisfied with just one more match.
#4 – Beth Phoenix
Beth Phoenix was the physical embodiment of the Divas Revolution long before it ever became something that the WWE was promoting. The Glamazon tried like hell to make women’s wrestling respectable during her run with WWE. But the problem is that no one was backing her up. Unfortunately for Beth, the WWE Divas were mostly looked at as glorified models during her time with WWE.
Now that the women are looked at in a different light, Phoenix could come back for a one off or even a limited run and show the division what dominance truly looks like. Beth Phoenix is intimidating, strong and a little scary. Those are all awesome and unique qualities which is why one more WWE match from Beth Phoenix has the potential to be something special if booked right.
#3 – Mickie James
Mickie James is like a fine wine, she only gets better with age. Mickie had an awesome run in WWE and she continued to show off her superior in ring skills during her stints in TNA. When it comes to having “it” Mickie definitely still has “it.”
Mickie James was fun to watch in TNA, but we all know that WWE is her home. She made a special trip to NXT not too long ago to train with the NXT Divas there so we know that she’s on good terms with WWE. Mickie’s experience could add a lot to the Divas division and a one off, surprise match against one of the big names in the WWE Divas division could get a lot of people talking.
#2 – Lita
Lita was a coach on the most recent season of Tough Enough and she definitely looks like she can still go in the ring. Lita changed the idea of what a WWE Diva could be and her legacy still permeates through the WWE Divas division to this day.
Lita is still a big name when it comes to women’s wrestling. Taking the time to build up a big match between her and someone like Paige could put a lot of eyes on the division and it could be a fun dream match for the fans. We don’t know about you guys but from where we’re standing, Paige vs Lita has WrestleMania written all over it.
#1 – Trish Stratus
You can’t make a list about former WWE Divas without including Trish Stratus. Trish is arguably the greatest WWE Diva of all time and she still seems to be in great shape. She may have wrestled a mixed tag match at WrestleMania 27, but it’s hard to look back on that match with fond memories when her teammate was Snooki from the “Jersey Shore.” There was also that one time she returned to team with John Cena. But what we want to see is Trish in a one on one match.
Trish is an absolute legend and given the right amount of time and promotion, a one on one match pitting her against a current WWE Diva could be a blockbuster attraction. Trish Stratus is a name that could help validate a lot of the up and coming WWE Divas. A match against Charlotte for example has serious potential to be something special because we all know they would take each other to the limit. When it comes to the WWE Divas division, if you put the name Trish Stratus on the card, you’re guaranteed to get people interested.
