WWE is constantly recruiting talent and a few weeks ago Zilla Fatu made his presence felt when he debuted in NXT and immediately set his sights on the NXT Championship.
Zilla will now go on to challenge for the NXT Championship in his first match with the company has he’s set to face off against Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana in a fatal four way for the the title at Heatwave this weekend.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that internally it is expected that Zilla Fatu will be joining the WWE main roster before long. The belief from those within the company is that pairing him with his cousins this early in his WWE run could set the stage for long term success.
WrestleVotes was told that the Zilla Fatu vignette that aired on Raw was not only designed to promote the NXT Heatwave PLE, it was also meant to serve as a soft introduction for the fans who might not be familiar with Zilla Fatu.
The idea for Zilla Fatu is to establish his connection with his family now as opposed to waiting until it is time for him to be officially called up to the main roster.
