Throughout the year the wrestling world has been talking a lot about WWE contracts as a number of people have parted ways with the company. Earlier today it was reported that Ilja Dragunov is leaving the company due to his WWE contract expiring, and it looks like we could be seeing more departures in the near future.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, more WWE main roster contracts are set to expire soon, although its not clear which members of the roster have a deal coming up. Alvarez wrote, “There are a few other main roster contracts of people who haven’t been on TV much coming due in October.”
It’s also being reported that WWE and Ilja Dragunov had been strongly negotiating his return to television as recently as June. Dragunov last appeared on WWE programming on the April 17th episode of SmackDown when he competed in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
At this point in time it’s not clear if WWE will be looking to enter into similar negotiations with the wrestlers who have deals coming up, but there are a number of main roster stars who have not been featured on television recently.
