Nick Aldis Interferes In CM Punk & Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther & Sami Zayn At Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event featured a big tag team match as Cody Rhodes & CM Punk teamed up to face Gunther & Sami Zayn. Ahead of the match Adam Pearce announced on SmackDown that if Gunther & Sami Zayn were able to pick up the victory they would be added to the Undisputed WWE Championship match at SummerSlam.

Before the bell even rang Sami started brawling with CM Punk as Cody brawled with Gunther. Punk and Gunther ended up fighting at ringside and The Ring General dropped the Undisputed WWE Champion spine first onto the barricade.

Cody managed to hit Sami with the Cross Rhodes then Gunther attacked him from behind. Gunther then went for CM Punk and Punk hit Gunther with the GTS. Punk tried to tag Cody in, but Cody wasn’t in the corner. As Punk was distracted Gunther locked in the sleeper hold on the Second City Saint.

CM Punk lifted Gunther up for the GTS and Gunther locked in the sleeper again while Punk tagged Cody in. Cody connected with the Cross Rhodes and Sami pushed Punk onto Cody to break up the pin.

Punk hit Sami with the GTS then Cody and Punk both hit Gunther with several strikes. Punk held Gunther for Cody as Cody went for the Disaster Kick, but Gunther moved and Cody collided with Punk. Gunther grabbed the Undisputed WWE Championship and hit Cody with the belt followed by a powerbomb while the referee was out.

A new referee came out to count the pin and Nick Aldis grabbed his leg, pulled the ref out of the ring, then hit Gunther with the belt. Punk hit Gunther with the GTS and placed Cody on Gunther then the referee counted the pin.
