Nikki Bella made her big return to WWE last year and she’s worked with a number of notable names on the roster since then. Earlier this year at the Royal Rumble, Nikki reunited with her sister Brie and it seemed that The Bella Twins were poised to take on the women’s tag team division.
Originally Nikki & Brie were set to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 42, but Nikki was pulled from the match due to injury, and Paige stepped in to team with Brie.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that they’ve been told Nikki Bella is progressing towards a return. A source stated that Bella’s name has been mentioned creatively over the last several weeks, and this is the first time that she has been mentioned in creative since WrestleMania.
The belief is that the renewed discussions in WWE creative point to a return not being too far off for Nikki Bella. The former WWE Divas Champion last stepped into the ring when The Bella Twins teamed up to face Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair on the 3/27 episode of SmackDown.
