This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured the return of Roman Reigns, and The Tribal Chief made his way to the ring during the main event segment. As Roman walked to the ring with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Jacob Fatu accompanied him.
As soon as Roman got on the mic and delivered his “acknowledge me” line, Seth Rollins’ music hit and The Visionary entered the arena. The situation quickly became tense as Rollins and Reigns engaged in a stare down with Jacob Fatu standing behind The Tribal Chief while the fans sang Seth’s song.
Seth told Roman that he’s in possession of a belt that belongs to him, and it’s time to collect. Roman told Seth that he’s confused, as he’s the back of the line, and he hasn’t done anything to earn a shot at The Tribal Chief. Seth said when it comes to Roman, he’s always at the front of the line, because of everything Roman has done, and everything he’s become, Seth owns him.
Rollins brought up how he pinned beat Roman at WrestleMania 41, and helped Cody beat Roman at WrestleMania 40. He continued as he discussed how Roman didn’t beat him during his 1,316 day title reign, and how he cashed in on Roman at WrestleMania 31. Seth told Roman he’s not here to ask for something, he’s here to give him something nobody else in the world can give him.
Seth brought up all of Roman’s accolades and said there’s one thing he’s never been able to do, “beat me,” and he’s here to give Roman that opportunity.
Rollins told Roman that this may be his last chance to close that loop, because they’re much closer to the end than they are the beginning. He asked Roman what he wants his legacy to be. Seth emphasized that if he doesn’t accept the challenge, Roman will never be able to forget the ghost of Seth Rollins.
Roman told his “little brother” that it’s been a long time since he’s heard any truth come out of his mouth, but he’s right, he needs to beat him, and he needs his entire family to witness it. Reigns then said, “at SummerSlam, that’s exactly what I’m gonna do. I accept.”
