There are a number of wrestlers who have taken on multiple gimmicks throughout their careers, and Chad Gable has had some notable characters to say the least. Last year Gable started appearing on WWE programming as El Grande Americano, and the gimmick was later taken over by another WWE star when Gable was sidelined due to injury.
Gable returned as Original El Grande Americano earlier this year and over the last few months he had been feuding with El Grande Americano. The two Americanos finally settled their feud in a mask vs. mask match which saw Gable reveal himself to be Original El Grande Americano after he was defeated.
The former Original El Grande Americano recently returned to TV as Chad Gable, and WWE seemingly confirmed that the gimmick is now retired as the company moved Original El Grande Americano to the alumni section of their official website.

In recent weeks Chad Gable has been trying to redeem himself by apologizing for all of the things he’s done over the last few years. Gable attempted to make amends with Alpha Academy this week on Raw, but Maxxine Dupri refused to let Otis shake Gable’s hand, and she indicated that they won’t be forgiving Chad anytime soon.
While Chad Gable’s run as Original El Grande Americano is over, he did announce after the mask vs. mask match that he would return to AAA in the future. How, or when that might happen remains to be seen.
