CM Punk has been off TV for almost two months now, and recently some wild rumors regarding his status with WWE have been making the rounds, with some rumors claiming he was trying to get out of his WWE contract.

Fightful Select is reporting that nobody in WWE among the dozens of people they spoke to has heard CM Punk wanted out of his WWE contract, and none of the talent they talked to believe Punk was asked to take a pay cut.

One source noted that Punk has a story coming up soon on TV, and he has not been off TV due to disciplinary reasons. New CM Punk merchandise is being produced, and dates are planned for Punk this summer.

Regarding AJ Lee, it’s being said that she’s not imminently in WWE’s plans at the moment, but that could always change. According to the report AJ Lee was never planned to be a full time performer when she returned to the company. Rumors claiming CM Punk was mad about something involving AJ Lee were scoffed at internally. Plans for her return were well planned out when she came back to the company, and she completed the run that was planned.

The report notes that Fightful also spoke to people who have never been keen on Punk, and even they had not heard any rumors regarding Punk wanting out of the company.

With rumors of CM Punk leaving WWE making the rounds some fans inevitably ended up talking about the possibility of him returning to AEW. People within the company have long believed that bridge will be rebuilt even if Punk never wrestles or works for AEW again. When the question was asked if the bridge had been burned completely the response was “never say never.”
