Danhausen is one of the most popular stars on the WWE roster right now and he’s been involved in a rivalry with Kit Wilson & The Miz over the last few months. SmackDown General Manager informed Danhausen that he would be able to face The Miz & Kit Wilson at Backlash this weekend, but only if he could find a tag team partner.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that while it hasn’t been confirmed, he is hearing a lot of speculation that Jelly Roll will be revealed to be Danhausen’s mystery partner at Backlash.
“I can’t confirm this but I am hearing speculation that the mystery partner for Danhausen is, in fact, Jelly Roll, which would make a LOT more sense than an unadvertised PLE appearance by CM Punk.”
The Jelly Roll reveal would make sense from a storyline standpoint as Jelly Roll has certainly had his own issues with The Miz & Kit Wilson in recent months.
Jelly Roll last stepped into the ring on the 3/27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown when he defeated Kit Wilson in his first ever singles match. In the weeks that followed Jelly Roll became a key figure in the Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton rivalry, and he last appeared on WWE programming at WrestleMania 42 during the night 1 main event when he put Pat McAfee through the announce table with an elbow drop.
WWE Backlash is set to air live from the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, May 9 and the full card for the show can be seen below.
