WrestleMania 42 has come and gone, but the two night event gave fans plenty to talk about. Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the night 1 main event, and the match featured interference from Pat McAfee.
Jelly Roll put McAfee through a table and he was stretchered out of the stadium, but he later returned wearing a neck brace and a referee shirt. During the match Randy Orton turned on Pat McAfee when he hit him with the RKO. Cody Rhodes then went on to retain the title.
Ahead of the match Pat McAfee declared that he would never be seen in the professional wrestling business again if Randy Orton didn’t win at WrestleMania. While talking about WrestleMania on the Pat McAfee Show today, Pat confirmed that he is done with wrestling and will be moving on.
“It turns out The American Nightmare, still got the throne. That guy’s the real deal brother. The wrestling business is kinda in the rearview mirror now. And to the wrestling business, I would like to say thank you. Thank you so much.”

Pat McAfee also confirmed that he no longer thinks the wrestling business needs to be saved when he said, “Although the mission was supposed to be Randy Orton saving the business, I think what happened is Cody Rhodes proved he is the one. Cody Rhodes is obviously very admirable. Randy Orton is still everything I said he was, but the good news is, the business doesn’t need to be saved after all. And good for them.”
McAfee’s addition to Cody’s feud with Randy Orton has been heavily discussed among fans in recent weeks, but now it seems that McAfee will no longer be a factor in the storyline.
Recently it was reported that WWE originally had a different finish planned for the night 1 main event, and you can get more details on that here.
