Trick Williams Wins United States Championship At WWE WrestleMania 42

Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 kicked off in a big way as Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar in the opening match, and Brock Lesnar seemingly retired immediately after. Penta successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship in the second match of the night, and Trick Williams went on to challenge Sami Zayn for the United States Championship in the third match.

Before Trick made his entrance Lil Yachty stood on the ramp and gave him a special introduction. The fans loudly sang “WHOOP THAT TRICK” and Lil Yachty continued to hype Trick up as he walked to the ring.

At one point during the match Sami Zayn was stomping Trick and he wouldn’t listen as the ref told him to back off. Lil Yachty started yelling at Sami, so Sami got out of the ring and threw Yachty into the barricade. He then stood on the edge of the ring and slammed Trick into the ring post a few times before hitting him with a brainbuster on the apron. Zayn was heavily booed by the fans.

While Trick was trying to recover from the brainbuster, Sami hit him with a Helluva Kick while Trick was leaning on the barricade. Williams struggled to get up but made it back in the ring at the count of nine. Sami stomped him again as the referee broke it up. Zayn was setting up for a Helluva Kick as the ref was checking on Williams. Lil Yachty attacked Zayn while the ref wasn’t looking and Trick followed up with a big boot for a two count.

Sami was setting up for the Helluva Kick once again, but Trick landed the Trick Shot and pinned Sami to win the title. After he picked up the victory Trick Williams celebrated in the ring with Lil Yachty then went out to the barricade to celebrate with his parents.
