This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured a big moment as The Judgment Day turned on Finn Balor. The tension between Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor had been building for some time and the situation finally turned hostile on Raw.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Dominik vs. Finn Balor was originally scheduled for SummerSlam last year, but the decision was made that The Judgment Day was still hot, so WWE decided not to make the change until later.
When the match was planned for SummerSlam the idea was for Finn Balor to bring the Demon gimmick back. It’s unknown if the Demon gimmick will be incorporated into the Finn vs. Dom feud, but that was the original plan last year.
Finn Balor’s Demon gimmick was used sporadically throughout his first few years with the company, but it’s been a while since fans have seen it on TV. Balor last transformed into the Demon when he faced off against Edge at WrestleMania 39 back in 2023. The persona has always been popular with fans, so hopefully we’ll be seeing it more frequently now that Finn is once again a babyface.
