AEW Star Says WWE Didn’t Try To Keep Him

There’s been a lot of movement in the wrestling world over the last few years as a number of former WWE stars have joined the All Elite Wrestling roster. In the summer of 2024, Ricochet was written off WWE TV, and he went on to make his debut with All Elite Wrestling when he entered the Casino Gauntlet match at the All In pay-per-view.

In the weeks leading up to his departure there was a lot of talk about Ricochet’s future, but ultimately he decided to part ways with WWE. During a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, Ricochet talked about his departure and noted that he didn’t feel WWE tried to keep him.

“For me, they didn’t try. They made an offer, we just couldn’t agree, okay, I’m out. They didn’t, for me at least, they didn’t really let me know they wanted me to stay. Who knows if that would have changed my mind anyway. This is just my experience. They may feel different. I didn’t feel they really sat me down and were like, ‘We want you to stay.’ Everyone has different experiences. That’s just how I felt.”

Ricochet will be in action this weekend as he’s currently set to team up with Gates of Agony to face off against The Hurt Syndicate in a trios match at AEW All Out on September 20th.
