Ricochet spent years wrestling all over the world and he made a name for himself thanks to his in-ring abilities. In 2018 it was announced that Ricochet had signed with WWE, but he parted ways with the company earlier this year and now wrestles for AEW.
Recently Ricochet was asked if he was custom made for AEW during an appearance on 103.5 Kiss FM Hot Tag with Brad, and the former Intercontinental Champion explained why he thinks the work he did prior to WWE helped create a world where AEW can exist.
“I’m not saying I’m the sole reason. I’m just saying. If there wasn’t Ricochet, there wouldn’t be AEW. I’m not saying I’m the sole reason that it happened, but I am saying, what I have done with Ospreay, with PAC, with AR Fox, with Dragon Gate, with PWG, with everything. Overseas. New Japan. Everything I’ve done in my past career helped set up a world where AEW can exist.
I’m not saying it’s just me. It’s me, it’s the Young Bucks. It’s Kenny Omega. It’s Ospreay. It’s everybody. I’m just saying, without Ricochet, there would be no Ospreay, really. You know what I’m saying? All of us guys are passionate and without that there would be no AEW.”
