John Cena’s in-ring career is coming to an end as he has announced that 2025 will be his final year as and active competitor. Cena has said that he’s planning to work around 36 dates during his retirement tour, and there’s no shortage of wrestlers who would like to face him before he calls it a career.

Recently CM Punk discussed John Cena’s retirement tour on 103.5 KISS FM, and Punk noted that he likes that Cena announced his retirement ahead of time because he thinks the former WWE Champion will get to “write his love letter to pro-wrestling on his way out.”

CM Punk also stated that he would be flattered if Cena wanted to wrestle him one more time, but if not that’s great too. While talking about potential opponents for John Cena’s final match CM Punk suggested that Cena could face someone new such as Gunther.

“You could say Randy. I think some people would say me. Knowing John, I’m assuming it’s going to be somebody new, someone he can hand the baton to. So it might be GUNTHER, it might be somebody that he has his eye on that nobody else is really seeing. You don’t know and that’s what’s exciting about it.”
