In recent weeks many people in the wrestling world have been talking about Cody Rhodes picking up a huge victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Last year it was a very different story as Rhodes was defeated by Reigns in the WrestleMania 39 main event.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns convinced Vince McMahon and Triple H to change the finish for the WrestleMania 39 main event. According to the report they believed that it would be more beneficial when it came to getting people like Solo Sikoa and Jey Uso over, and that it would make Cody Rhodes a bigger star to hold off on the title change for a year.
It’s being said that McMahon made the decision to change the finish first, but that Triple H agreed. The feeling following the success of WrestleMania 40 this year is that the decision was correct and critics were proven wrong.
