John Cena made his big return to SmackDown back in September, and since then he’s been feuding with The Bloodline. Cena & LA Knight defeated Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso at Fastlane, and Cena took on Solo in a singles match at Crown Jewel on Saturday.
Ahead of the match Michael Cole pointed out that John Cena last won a singles match in 2018 when he defeated Triple H. Both men wasted no time as they went right after one another as soon as the bell rang.
Cena focused on Solo’s taped up thumb as the fans chanted “you still got it!” Throughout the match Solo tried to hit the Samoan Spike several times, but Cena managed to avoid it.
Eventually Solo did managed to land the Samoa Spike. However, he wasn’t able to capitalize with a pin as both men fell down from exhaustion. Solo immediately followed up with another Samoan Spike then waited for Cena to get up for a third. He hit Cena with the Samoan Spike for a third time then waited for Cena to get up again.
Solo grabbed Cena’s neck then hit him with the Samoan Spike for a fourth time. He lifted up Cena’s head and continuously hit Cena in the neck then pinned him to win the match.
After Solo made his way up the ramp the fans gave Cena a standing ovation. Cena had a somber look on his face, but he waved to the fans before leaving.
