Over the years there have been many wrestlers who have competed inside a WWE ring, but unfortunately you never know when one of your favorite wrestlers might get fired.
Back in 2011, Melina competed in a Divas Championship #1 Contender’s Battle Royal during which Gail Kim eliminated herself and then quit the company. During a recent appearance on Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Melina recalled the battle royal gone wrong, and she also reflected on an interesting exchange she had with Vince McMahon at the SmackDown tapings the next night.
“I was in Gorilla [Position] and Vince was passing by and he stopped and he turned and he looked at me and he said, ‘You have a good night.’ “I was like, ‘Holy f***, I’m getting fired.’ He just said ‘f*** you’ to me, but with a good night.”
“As soon as he said, ‘Have a good night,’ I knew I was marked,” Melina said.
Even though Melina’s run with the company came to an end in 2011 she has since returned to WWE as she made appearances on Raw in 2019 and 2021. Melina also competed in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match.
