The WWE main roster is loaded with talent right now, but unfortunately that means not everyone can appear on TV regularly. It’s been a while since fans have seen Elias on television, and it doesn’t sound like WWE has any plans to bring him back at the moment.
The BWE X account was asked about the status of Elias, and BWE responded by claiming that Elias is, “without a professional contract at the moment.”
Elias first signed with WWE in 2014 and shortly after he started making appearances on NXT. In 2017, WWE called Elias up to the main roster and he was used fairly regularly in the years that followed.
On the Raw after WrestleMania 38, a new character named Ezekiel debuted claiming to be the brother of Elias. The gimmick seemed to be a hit with the fans, but in August of last year Ezekiel was written off TV, and Elias was brought back. However, Elias was not used much after reverting to his previous gimmick and he went undrafted in the 2023 WWE Draft.
There’s currently no word on whether or not WWE has interest in signing Elias to a new deal, or if he could be heading elsewhere. Stay tuned for updates.
