Cody Rhodes has been on a roll since returning to WWE at the Royal Rumble last month as he won the 30 man Royal Rumble match and he’s currently set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
PWInsider is reporting that WWE officials have been “incredibly impressed” in regard to how much merchandise Cody is moving when it comes to younger fans. The American Nightmare is said to be receiving high internal marks and is selling high numbers for items targeted for kids.
The feeling in WWE is that Cody Rhodes appeals to multiple generations as he’s liked by both kids and adults. It’s being said that WWE believes they have “something special” with Cody Rhodes that they can exploit in a good way while making money and positioning Cody as a top talent. Internally there’s been a lot of talk about Cody’s popularity with the younger audience which is seen as a major positive for the company.
WrestleMania 39 will air live from SoFi Stadium on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2. Cody Rhodes will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the event. It’s believed that the big title match will main event night 2 of WrestleMania, but WWE has yet to officially confirm that. Stay tuned for updates.
