Sasha Banks has been a hot topic for months now as everyone is wondering what’s next for her after she and Naomi walked out of Raw back in May. Talk about her status has picked up recently as it’s been reported that she’s going to be at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom.
Fightful Select reports that WrestleCade reached out about booking Sasha Banks for the event and they were told that she wouldn’t be taking any wrestling related bookings until January 1st. The timing is interesting because NJPW Wrestle Kingdom is in January, and AEW is advertising that Saraya will team with a mystery partner at their January show in LA.
When asked about Sasha Banks no one at WWE had any update on her status, or at least they weren’t willing to say anything about it. However, it’s being said that several talents in AEW are excited about the possibility of Banks working with the company. One source noted that they think Sasha Banks could be a weekly anchor for the women’s division in AEW, and something that could help viewership by kickstarting interest.
NJPW sources did not confirm or deny news about Banks being at Wrestle Kingdom, and it was noted that normally they would quickly deny something if it wasn’t true.
