Following the WWE draft a few months ago fans have seen some new faces getting pushed on WWE programming, and Austin Theory has seemingly found himself in a top spot.
Theory managed to get a shot at the WWE Title via Vince McMahon’s stolen egg storyline, and even though he failed to defeat Big E to win the belt it seems that the match has gone a long way when it comes to helping his career.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Austin Theory’s match with Big E did well with the teenage audience, so he’s been paired with Vince McMahon to give him “the rub.”
“The idea here is that Theory’s match did well, particularly with teenagers, at holding the audience and he is young, so give him the rub sitting next to Vince.”
Vince McMahon slapped Austin Theory last week on Monday Night Raw, and during an appearance on After The Bell with Corey Graves he revealed that he’s watched the video clip quite a few times.
“I’ve probably watched the video of [me] getting slapped [by Vince McMahon] like a 100 times. I would say, just don’t upset Vince McMahon. Because, yo, he’s got some hands man.”
