Over the last year quite a few talents have been released from the WWE roster, and in September of 2020 the company released The Authors of Pain.
The former Raw Tag Team Champions have been quiet since then, and Fightful recently reported that both All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling had internal talks about the Authors of Pain joining their respective companies, but nothing ever came of the talks.
Now it’s being reported by Fightful Select that after the story broke a promoter reached out to them and claimed that they had been told both Akam and Rezar are now retired from professional wrestling.
It’s worth noting that it’s not clear whether Akam and Rezar themselves confirmed they are retired, or if a representative of the team told the promoter they are retired.
