From time to time WWE adds another wrestling move to the banned moves list, and the buckle bomb was recently banned from WWE matches.
A few weeks ago on Raw there was a rough looking bump where Nia Jax tried to hit Kairi Sane with the move, and Sane ended up hitting her head on the turnbuckle.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there were some people in the company who wanted the move to be banned before that match, but it’s being said that the spot with Nia Jax and Kairi Sane was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
There were people who were against banning the move, but that spot was said to be the one that caused Vince McMahon to ban it.
Meltzer also added that there’s no word on whether or not powerbombs on the ring apron or barricade have been banned as well.
