For the past several weeks Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega have been throwing jabs at each other on Twitter and it seemed to be all in good fun. After all, the chances of seeing these two lock horns in an actual match seemed slim due to the fact that Kenny Omega is with New Japan Pro Wrestling and Chris Jericho is a WWE guy.
Well, if you thought that then you’ve jumped to conclusions because it turns out you never know what can happen in pro wrestling once again. Because after Kenny Omega’s victory over Beretta at New Japan’s Power Struggle 2017, Chris Jericho popped up on the screen and challenged The Cleaner to an actual contest.
Most people assumed if Omega vs Jericho was going to happen it might take place on Y2J’s upcoming cruise. After all, international waters might be the perfect place to find a loophole in a pro wrestling contract. But it seems like these two have agreed upon a location where a few more cameras will be present.
Y2J challenged Kenny Omega to a dream match at Wrestle Kingdom 12 and The Cleaner accepted. Therefore the biggest show on NJPW’s calendar just got even bigger. This is huge news, but what else should we have expected from two guys like Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega.

The internet has already exploded due to this announcement. Seriously, this is huge news and quite unprecedented in many respects. I can only imagine what Vince McMahon’s reaction to this news is going to be. But honestly, I don’t care because Jericho vs Omega is actually happening and it won’t just be on Twitter anymore!

Omega accepted his challenge, apparently making Omega vs. Jericho for the IWGP US title official for Wrestle Kingdom. ^JC #njpst https://t.co/0Ft9bR9hxW

If this is legit, NJPW needs to put that card on ppv and not on their website. Can you imagine the buyrates for this?
