Roman Reigns won the first ever 7 man Elimination Chamber match Sunday night, and now he’s set to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 where he will challenge him for the Universal Championship. Coming out of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, a big confrontation between Reigns and Lesnar was advertised for Raw, but it didn’t end up happening.
Instead, Roman Reigns made his way to the ring, said that Brock Lesnar had something to do, and then proceeded to talk some major trash about the current Universal Champion.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he’s not sure about the details, but it appears there was a last minute script change as Brock was originally booked for the show.
Roman Reigns got a lot of people talking with his “shoot” style promo, but it’s also being reported that Roman’s promo was scripted.
Meltzer went on to say that there was a confrontation between Reigns and Lesnar in the original script.
There’s been a lot of speculation regarding Brock Lesnar’s future with WWE after WrestleMania, and whether or not he’ll sign a new contract.
Dana White confirmed that he met with Brock Lesnar on Sunday, but didn’t elaborate in regards to what they talked about.
One way or another as of right now Brock is still scheduled to defend the title at Mania, but it looks like WWE officials are making some last minute changes on the Road to WrestleMania.
