Fans have seen some interesting stars come out of NXT ever since the brand was created, and last September NXT was officially relaunched as NXT 2.0. Since then new faces have been at the forefront of NXT such as Joe Gacy.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the perception is that Bruce Prichard and Vince McMahon are running NXT, but that’s not the case. It’s being said that when it comes to creative Shawn Michaels is basically the person in charge right now. However, Michaels has to follow orders from the top and Vince McMahon has the final say.
Shawn Michaels takes direction from the top in regards to who the company wants pushed and Vince McMahon reportedly stepped in and made it known that he wants Joe Gacy to get pushed. McMahon wants Gacy pushed because he thinks that the character will get mainstream publicity for WWE.
Vince McMahon is more hands on with NXT now in the sense that he looks at run sheets and scripts, but he doesn’t make late changes to the show like he does with Raw and SmackDown.
